"Bobby Long is a friend of ours who just so happens to also be good friends with Robert Pattinson. "R-Patz" got him to make the soundtrack for teen vampire film Twilight and since then, (plus the huge hype amongst young girls worldwide which followed) he's started to get pretty big. Here's a little acoustic session with the guy."View on site...
"How far can a do-it-yourself artist go? For singer/songwriter Bobby Long, a friendship formed at a club’s open-mic night led to getting one of his songs in a hit movie. Long, who was born in northern England and grew up in the southwestern area called Wessex, met actor Robert Pattinson in a London club while both were making the open-mic rounds." Read more...
"Bobby Long is a young folk/country singer traveling in the acoustic world. He is trying his stuff out on U.S. audiences this summer, making his way from New York through Texas and on to several west coast gigs. He then comes on around in September to finish things up in New York City before returning to London and the U.K.
This is not complex music. “Who Have You Been Lovin’” is simply voice and acoustic guitar. The vocal is physically strong. Long’s voice is a bit “raspy,” a fact that won’t hurt him a bit. In fact, it adds to the feel." Read more...
"We're in the presence of the biggest unsigned recording artist in America. Meet Bobby Long, a man who's already sold out LA's prestigious Whisky A Go Go in advance, before having any music available to buy. And most things about Bobby Long turn perceived expectations on their head. Logic would tell you that he must be the lastest US RnB star, but in fact he's home grown and while this emerging star's story is a very modern one paradoxically his music is as old as the hills; because Bobby Long is an acoustic singer-songwriter, whose music is steeped in folk, blues and country." "If you want the short version, Bobby Long’s initial success was catapulted by only a few verses. Having co-written a song that may or may not have been featured in some unknown indie film which involves vampires, his name has spread like wildfire in a very short amount of time.
We met with Bobby before his show at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, his last gig amongst a handful of American tour dates before making his way back to London to finish college. During our time with him, we learned that the kid is smart. He’s thought more about the future of the music industry than some of the most respected veterans in the business." Read more...
"Bobby Long is an old soul. When hearing his Bob Dylan inspired blues folk it’s hard to tell he is just 22 years old. Somewhat of story teller, Bobby Long writes songs which breathe a labyrinth of imagery that is both fragile and heartrending. His live show is entirely captivating - allowing his endearing charm to sparkle with pure intimacy." Read more...
"When we meet, Bobby is just coming to the end of a short US industry tour of Los Angeles, New York and Nashville, the result of his co-writing a song that ended up on the chart-topping soundtrack of a Hollywood blockbuster. He has been working hard, and this is his first day off in weeks. He slowly descends the stairs of the town home in the Nashville suburbs where he and close friend, fellow singer-songwriter Sam Bradley, are staying. Pausing on the landing, he offers me his hand with a smile that seems humble and a bit shy and says, "Hi, I'm Bobby." Read more...
"Bobby Long is the real deal. At the ripe old age of 22, this London-based singer/songwriter has already contributed to the soundtrack of a blockbuster film, released a chart-climbing single and amassed an adoring international fan-base. Until recently, his career revolved around bedroom-recording sessions and open mic nights, but all that changed after a chance encounter with Twilight’s vamp-hunk, Robert Pattinson." Read more...
"Bobby Long and Sam Bradley stopped in Nashville, Tennessee at 3rd and Lindsley as part of Bobby’s short U.S. tour (prepping for a much larger U.S. tour this summer). We were in attendance and got to sit down with Bobby after the show. Bobby is a British musician and sold out every show in his first tour of the States (NYC, L.A. and Nashville). Buzz started about this musician after one of his songs was used on the soundtrack of the hit movie Twilight. He is now making a name for himself and making waves in the process." Read more...
The Twilight Soundtrack's Bobby Long: A Music Mix meet and greet
"Friendship with Twilight dreamboat Robert Pattinson has its privileges. Twenty-two-year-old singer-songwriter Bobby Long met the then-struggling actor a while back at the popular London open-mic Up All Night, and the pair quickly became close; since then, the 2008 release of the film soundtrack’s spare, gravelly ballad "Let Me Sign," sung by Pattinson and penned by Long and friend Marcus Foster, has suddenly catapulted Long into a whole new world of Twi-fans and frenzied media attention.
On a visit today to EW’s offices, the lanky, swoopy-haired Brit talked to us about his upcoming American tour dates, and the hazards of ancillary — if still white-hot — fame." Read more...

Exclusive Conversation with Bobby Long
"Hello Twilighters!
As some of you may know, Mr. Bobby Long is a friend of Twilight News. Bobby collaborated with Marcus Foster on the song ‘Let Me Sign’ which Robert Pattinson sings on the Twilight (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (available on iTunes). We are delighted to help promote his career and spread some well deserved popularity! We are all very excited to see his fanbase growing and he truly appreciates all of the amazing support. Bobby is heading to the states in April to perform a couple of gigs and talk to a few industry people, many of you have already stated you plan to attend when and where you can and we thought you might want to get to know Bobby a bit better. So we took some time out a few days ago to sit down together and do an interview with some of the questions I have gathered from various Bobby Fans. It was rather impromptu but we had a laugh and I think you will all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed doing it!"Read more...
